Services

At Helena Autism we offer half-day therapy and skills training programs for children ages 2 - 7 years old.

How Our Program Works

Programs are individualized based on your child’s Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) and are carried out five days a week.

Your child will be with a caring clinician who is focused on the goals laid out in the ITP and parent or caregiver’s input. Treatment is based upon best practices using a variety of tools, techniques, and training. Therapies may include behavioral, play, and relational.

A typical day may include, but not be limited to: Relationship Building, Intensive Skills Training, Play Therapy, Communication Skills, Group Therapy and Skills, Peer Play, Gym Time, Daily Living Skills, and Snack/Lunch.

To Qualify

Children may qualify for Helena Autism services with a mental health diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum &/or after being assessed at the center.

Enrollment

The first step towards accessing any of the valuable Helena Autism services, is to complete and submit our Helena Autism Therapy Center Program Inquiry and Eligibilty Form

Please download, print and mail the completed form to:

Helena Autism Therapy Center
5301 E River Rd. Suite 110

or fax to 763-951-2132

Once received, your information will be promptly reviewed and forwarded to our Clinical Supervisor. You will be contacted to discuss the availability of the services in need, go over any questions or concerns you have, potentially schedule a tour of our facility and/or schedule an assessment or evaluation.

Upon availability, you will have a licensed professional conduct an assessment to determine eligibility for services. If your child is eligible for services, they will be placed on our waitlist. It is difficult to predict the timeframe for the postions on our waitlist, due to the multiple factors in which this is determined. We encourage you to research other programs to determine what is best for your child. Helena Autism accepts most commercial insurance plans (that include Mental Health Benefits). Certain Medical Assistance (MA) programs cover the cost of our services, specifically straight MA (MA not attached to a commercial plan) or the TEFRA option. For MA information, contact a county caseworker or go to http://www.dhs.state.mn.us/autism
